Describes the environment variables required to run the server.

| PINECONE_MODE | No | Set to 'cloud' for cloud mode, or leave unset for local development with Pinecone Local. | local |
| OPENAI_API_KEY | No | Your OpenAI API key for embeddings. Required in cloud mode when using OpenAI as the embedding provider (or set the key for another configured provider). | |
| PINECONE_API_KEY | No | Your Pinecone API key. Required when PINECONE_MODE=cloud. | |
| PINECONE_CONTROLLER_HOST | No | The Pinecone controller host for local mode. Clear this value when using cloud mode. |
