# GoogleCalendarMCP

A [Model Completion Prompt (MCP)](https://github.com/model-completion-prompt/mcp) plugin for interacting with Google Calendar.

## Features

- Create events in Google Calendar with customizable:
  - Start and end times
  - Description
  - Location
  - Attendees
  - Timezone

## Installation

1. Clone this repository:
```bash
git clone https://github.com/ITworkonline/GoogleCalendarMCP.git
cd GoogleCalendarMCP
```

2. Create a virtual environment and install dependencies:
```bash
python -m venv .venv
source .venv/bin/activate  # On Windows: .venv\Scripts\activate
pip install -e .
```

3. Set up Google Calendar API:
   - Go to the [Google Cloud Console](https://console.cloud.google.com/)
   - Create a new project
   - Enable the Google Calendar API
   - Create OAuth 2.0 credentials (Desktop app)
   - Download the credentials JSON file and save it as `credentials.json` in the project root

## Usage

```python
from GoogleCalendarMCP.main import create_event

# Create a calendar event
result = await create_event(
    summary="Meeting with Team",
    start_time="2025-04-01T10:00:00",
    end_time="2025-04-01T11:00:00",
    description="Discuss project progress",
    location="Conference Room 3",
    attendees=["colleague@example.com"],
    timezone="America/New_York"
)
```

## Authentication

The first time you run the program, it will open a browser window for you to authenticate with your Google account. After authentication, a `token.json` file will be created to store your credentials for subsequent runs.
