Server Configuration
Describes the environment variables required to run the server.

| MIND_ROOT | Yes | Absolute path to the knowledge base root. Data is stored here in plain text. This is required for tool calls to succeed. | |
| AUTH_TOKEN | No | Bearer token used to protect the MCP server and Web API endpoints. Recommended when exposed to a network. | |
| MCP_TRANSPORT | No | The transport mechanism for the MCP server, typically 'stdio' for local agents. | |
| OPENAI_API_KEY | No | OpenAI API key. Takes precedence over the value in the config file if set. | |
| ANTHROPIC_API_KEY | No | Anthropic API key. Takes precedence over the value in the config file if set. |
