Server Configuration
Describes the environment variables required to run the server.
| Name | Required | Description | Default |
|---|---|---|---|
| api_key | No | fxapis API key (optional, sensitive). Leave empty to sign in to fxapis in your browser on first use. Set an `fx_live_…` key only for agents that run unattended. The plugin sends it as the `X-API-Key` header. | |
| FXAPIS_KEY | No | fxapis API key used by clients such as Cursor, which read it from the `FXAPIS_KEY` environment variable (set it before starting the client) and send it as the `Authorization: Bearer` header. Required for VS Code/Cursor/other clients that connect with an API key instead of OAuth. | |
| allowLiveTrading | No | Allow trades on live accounts. Off: trades on accounts fxapis reports as live are refused. Demo accounts trade, each after you confirm it. Turning this on does not skip confirmation: every trade, demo or live, is still asked about. | false |
