Scored across 32 tools
Most tools have sharply distinct targets: reading a text (get_text), a translation (get_translation), a commentary (get_commentary), post-canonical books (get_post_canonical), and searching each of those corpora are clearly separated by corpus and action. Minor overlap remains between lookup_pali and glossary (both accept a Pāli headword and return glosses) and between topic, list_topics and dhamma_list, which take a moment of reading to tell apart.
The dominant pattern is verb_noun snake_case (get_text, search_texts, resolve_reference, compare_translations, verify_quote, find_citations) applied consistently for operational tools. Bare-noun names (festivals, uposatha, paritta, glossary, topic, daily_text, reading_plan) are used for 'give me this view' tools, which is a deliberate but noticeable deviation from the verb_noun norm rather than chaos.
32 tools is heavy and well above the comfortable range, even though each one maps to a recognisable corpus or operation (canon, commentary, post-canonical, vinaya, Abhidhamma, dictionaries, calendars, verification). The breadth is real for a canon-study server, but an agent must hold a large mental map, and some grouping (e.g. the four search_* tools, the several lookup_* tools) could have been consolidated.
The surface covers the full lifecycle of canon study: browse/resolve/reference, read Pāli, read and compare translations, commentary and parallels, vinaya rules, Abhidhamma matrices, dictionaries and glossaries, festivals and observance calendars, plus verification of citations and quotes. No obvious dead ends remain for the stated purpose; even offline/live and script-handling concerns are addressed.
