| Name | Description |
|---|---|
| list_servicesA | FREE. List all paid data services with price in USDC, limits, notices and example requests. Call this first. |
| preflightA | FREE. Validate an input for a paid tool and check budget/limits without paying or calling any data provider. Returns the normalized input. Use it before a paid call to avoid wasted payments. |
| find_locationA | FREE. Look up city/region location codes in Germany, Austria and Switzerland (e.g. Rosenheim, Wien, Zürich). These codes work for google_serp, local_business, news_search, image_search and local_market_check; all other tools take country codes (2276, 2040, 2756). |
| wishlistA | FREE. Tell the operator which data tool you would pay for (one short text, 10 to 300 characters, no personal data). Write-only: nothing is published and no reply is sent. Limited to 3 per day per client. |
| get_resultA | FREE. Fetch a result you already paid for (or its status) with the request_id and result_token from the original response. |
| retry_requestA | FREE. If a PAID call failed at the data provider after payment was settled, re-run it once at no extra charge using request_id and result_token from the error response. |

SANDBOX (development): returns dummy data, no payment. NOTE: Modeled estimate, not a measured count. DataForSEO calculates AI search volume from statistical data on questions in Google's 'People Also Ask' results; it does not report actual prompt counts from any AI platform (ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, ...). Use it as a relative demand indicator. |

TDQS
Scored across 26 tools
Most tools target a distinct resource+action, and descriptions clearly separate lookalikes such as keyword_ideas (seed-phrase suggestions), keywords_for_site (keywords for a URL), ranked_keywords (keywords a domain already ranks for) and keyword_gap (competitor-only keywords). The closest overlaps are domain_overview vs traffic_estimate (both return traffic estimates, differentiated mainly by bulk vs single-domain) and local_business vs local_market_check (the latter is a bundle containing the former), which could still cause occasional misselection.
All names are snake_case and readable, with a coherent two-tier convention: free plumbing helpers use verb_noun (list_services, find_location, get_result, retry_request) while paid data endpoints use noun phrases (keyword_metrics, google_serp, domain_overview). That split is sensible but not strictly a single predictable pattern, and the noun-phrase data tools mix 'google/bing' prefixes with bare domain nouns.
At 26 tools the surface is heavy and sits at the top of the practical range for an agent to scan reliably. The breadth is defensible since each tool maps to a distinct DataForSEO endpoint for a different SEO question, but some consolidation (e.g. merging traffic_estimate/domain_overview, or serp variants) would reduce selection cost.
Keyword research, SERP retrieval, competitor analysis, local/Maps, trends, tech detection, traffic estimation and basic on-page auditing are all covered, so core discovery workflows have no dead ends. However, backlink/link-profile data (referring domains, anchors) is entirely absent, and there is no crawl, sitemap, or historical rank-tracking capability, which are notable gaps for an SEO agent.
