Server Configuration

Describes the environment variables required to run the server.

NameRequiredDescriptionDefault
FREELLMPOOL_MODENoConservative quota mode. Set to "wise" to make ask default to a smaller output budget and spread routing, narrow tokenmax default fan-out, and require confirmation for broad multi-model calls. Per-command --mode normal|wise overrides the environment.
FREELLMPOOL_ROUTINGNoRouting strategy. Set to "fast" to prefer the lowest-latency provider instead of the default least-used-first routing.
FREELLMPOOL_PROXY_KEYNoBearer token required from clients when the proxy is exposed beyond loopback. On loopback, any placeholder API key works unless this is configured; Tailnet/LAN serving requires a real proxy bearer token by default.
FREELLMPOOL_PUBLIC_BADGENoSet to 1 to make public badges embeddable; the proxy then serves /badge.svg and /summary.svg live.
