Server Configuration
Describes the environment variables required to run the server.

| MCP_DATA_DIR | No | The allowed root directory for the filesystem tools. Defaults to the home directory ($HOME, or %USERPROFILE% on Windows). Set it to change the root from the start, e.g. MCP_DATA_DIR=/other/path npm start. | |
| PUBLIC_ORIGIN | No | Optional. The owned public origin used when running with your own ingress instead of Tailscale Funnel (formerly described in .env.example as a non-default variable). | |
| GROK_CALLBACK_PREFIX | No | Optional. Allowlists Grok's OAuth redirect_uri callback prefix (its real callback is https://grok.com/connectors-oauth-exchange-code/). Set it if a future Grok change moves that callback. |
