Server Configuration

Describes the environment variables required to run the server.

NameRequiredDescriptionDefault
GROQ_API_KEYNoProvider credential (Groq) passed to the server via environment variable. Add keys for providers to unlock more models and higher limits; the server can start credential-free when an enabled keyless route is available.
FREELLMPOOL_MODENoSet to 'wise' for the conservative quota mode: ask defaults to a smaller output budget and spread routing, tokenmax narrows its default fan-out, and broad multi-model calls require confirmation unless --yes is passed.
FREELLMPOOL_ROUTINGNoSet to 'fast' to prefer the lowest-latency provider instead of the default least-used-first routing.
FREELLMPOOL_PROXY_KEYNoIf the published proxy port is deliberately exposed, set this to require that Bearer token from clients. On loopback, any placeholder API key works unless this is configured.
FREELLMPOOL_PUBLIC_BADGENoSet to 1 to make the proxy serve /badge.svg and /summary.svg live as public, embeddable badges.
