# Code of Conduct ## Our Pledge We pledge to make participation in our community a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of age, body size, visible or invisible disability, ethnicity, sex characteristics, gender identity and expression, level of experience, education, socio-economic status, nationality, personal appearance, race, religion, or sexual identity and orientation. ## Our Standards ### Positive behavior includes: * Demonstrating empathy and kindness toward other people * Being respectful of differing opinions, viewpoints, and experiences * Giving and gracefully accepting constructive feedback * Accepting responsibility and apologizing to those affected by our mistakes * Focusing on what is best for the overall community * Using welcoming and inclusive language * Respecting the legitimate purpose of this tool ### Unacceptable behavior includes: * The use of sexualized language or imagery, and sexual attention or advances * Trolling, insulting or derogatory comments, and personal or political attacks * Public or private harassment of any kind * Publishing others' private information without explicit permission * Misusing this tool for harassment, stalking, discrimination, or harmful purposes * Violating legal or ethical guidelines for accessing immigration information * Other conduct inappropriate in a professional setting ## Enforcement Report incidents to: conduct@ice-locator-mcp.org or @trose (GitHub) For security issues: security@ice-locator-mcp.org ### Consequences 1. **Correction**: Private warning for inappropriate language/behavior 2. **Warning**: Warning with consequences for continued behavior; no interaction with involved parties 3. **Temporary Ban**: Temporary ban from community interaction for serious violations 4. **Permanent Ban**: Permanent ban for sustained inappropriate behavior, threats, or harassment ## Legal and Ethical Compliance This tool is designed for legitimate purposes: - Legal representation and advocacy - Family reunification efforts - Humanitarian assistance - Academic research with proper authorization **Prohibited uses** include but are not limited to: - Commercial exploitation of detainee information - Harassment or stalking of individuals - Discrimination based on protected characteristics - Any illegal activities Community members are expected to use this tool responsibly and in compliance with applicable laws and ethical standards. ## Attribution This Code of Conduct is adapted from the [Contributor Covenant](https://www.contributor-covenant.org), version 2.0.
