Consolidate all formatting logic into a single, authoritative `formatter.py` module within the `src/deckbuilder/content` package. The legacy `content_formatting.py` should be removed, and all imports should be updated to point to the new location.
## 2. Frontmatter Processing: `structured_frontmatter.py` vs. `content/frontmatter.py`
**Observation:**
Similar to the formatting logic, there are two modules for handling structured frontmatter: `src/deckbuilder/structured_frontmatter.py` and `src/deckbuilder/content/frontmatter.py`. This creates confusion and potential for divergence.
**Recommendation:**
Merge the functionality of these two files into `src/deckbuilder/content/frontmatter.py`. This file should be the single source of truth for all frontmatter-related operations, including parsing, validation, and conversion.
## 3. Duplicate `parse_inline_formatting` Method
**Observation:**
The `parse_inline_formatting` method is duplicated in `content_formatting.py`, `content/formatter.py`, and `content/processor.py`. This is a clear violation of the DRY (Don't Repeat Yourself) principle.
**Recommendation:**
This method should exist in only one place: the consolidated `formatter.py` module. All other modules should import and use this single implementation.
## 4. CLI Command Handling in `cli.py`
**Observation:**
The `cli.py` module contains a large amount of code for parsing arguments and handling commands. The `handle_help_command`, `handle_template_command`, `handle_pattern_command`, `handle_image_command`, and `handle_config_command` functions create a complex and difficult-to-maintain command structure.

Refactor the CLI to use a more standard and extensible approach. Consider using a library like `click` or `typer` to simplify command creation and argument parsing. This will make the CLI easier to read, maintain, and extend with new commands.
## 5. Redundant Logic in `slide_builder.py`
**Observation:**
The `_add_content_to_placeholders_fallback` method in `slide_builder.py` appears to duplicate some of the logic found in `_apply_content_by_semantic_type`. Both methods handle the application of content to placeholders, and their logic could be unified.
**Recommendation:**
Refactor these methods to remove redundancy. A single, more flexible method should be ableto handle content application for both the standard and fallback cases.

1. **Consolidate Formatting Logic:** Merge `content_formatting.py` into `content/formatter.py`.
