# Completing GitHub Setup Since you need to authenticate with GitHub, here are the final steps to complete the setup: ## Option 1: Using GitHub CLI (Recommended) 1. **Authenticate with GitHub:** ```bash gh auth login ``` Follow the prompts to authenticate with your GitHub account. 2. **Create the repository:** ```bash cd local-dev-bridge-mcp gh repo create local-dev-bridge-mcp --public --source=. --remote=origin --description="MCP server for local development - bridges Claude Desktop with your local file system" --push ``` ## Option 2: Manual GitHub Setup 1. **Go to GitHub.com** and create a new repository: - Repository name: `local-dev-bridge-mcp` - Description: "MCP server for local development - bridges Claude Desktop with your local file system" - Set to Public - Do NOT initialize with README, .gitignore, or License 2. **Connect your local repository to GitHub:** ```bash cd local-dev-bridge-mcp git remote add origin https://github.com/YOUR_USERNAME/local-dev-bridge-mcp.git git branch -M main git push -u origin main ``` Replace `YOUR_USERNAME` with your actual GitHub username. ## Sharing with Your Team Once the repository is on GitHub, your teammates can install it by: 1. **Cloning the repository:** ```bash git clone https://github.com/YOUR_USERNAME/local-dev-bridge-mcp.git cd local-dev-bridge-mcp ``` 2. **Running the setup script:** **macOS/Linux:** ```bash ./setup.sh ``` **Windows:** ```cmd setup.bat ``` 3. **Restarting Claude Desktop** The setup script will automatically configure Claude Desktop with the correct paths!
