## Prerequisites
Before starting any tutorial, ensure you have:
- Node.js 18+ installed
- Basic TypeScript/JavaScript knowledge
- A code editor (VS Code recommended)
- MCP-compatible client (Claude Desktop, Cursor, etc.)
## Quick Setup
```bash
# Clone the repository
git clone https://github.com/nirholas/universal-crypto-mcp.git
cd universal-crypto-mcp
# Install dependencies
pnpm install
# Build packages
pnpm build
# Start a tutorial
cd tutorials
```
## Environment Variables
Most tutorials require API keys:
```bash
# Copy the example environment file
cp .env.example .env
# Edit with your API keys
nano .env
```
Required keys:
- `COINGECKO_API_KEY` - For market data (free tier available)
- `BINANCE_API_KEY` - For trading (optional)
- `BINANCE_API_SECRET` - For trading (optional)
- `PRIVATE_KEY` - Your EVM wallet key (for transactions)
- `SOLANA_PRIVATE_KEY` - Your Solana wallet key (optional)
## Running Examples
Each tutorial includes working code examples:
