## What Was Built
A minimal Python MCP server for Readwise integration that:
- Replaces the broken Node.js `readwise-mcp-enhanced` server
- Uses FastMCP framework (proven with Basecamp MCP)

- Reuses battle-tested logic from `.claude/scripts/readwise-backfill.py`
- Preserves existing state file format for seamless replacement

## Architecture

- `fetch_api()` - HTTP client using requests (replaces subprocess curl)
