- "Navigate to the previous assignment step with content updates for RecipeName and Category"
### π‘ Tip: Multi-Step Navigation Success
**For navigation to work, you must be on step 2 or later** - there's no previous step from step 1! The tool automatically handles eTag management and works perfectly when there's actually a previous step to navigate to. Content updates work seamlessly when combined with valid navigation.
## recalculate_assignment_fields
- "Can you recalculate the fields in my assignment form to update calculated values?"
- "I need to recalculate calculated fields for assignment ASSIGN-WORKLIST ON6E5R-DIYRECIPE-WORK R-1070!RECIPEINTAKE_FLOW with action EnterRecipeDetails"

- "I need to upload this document from my computer to create a temporary attachment"
- "Upload the file /path/to/document.pdf to Pega and give me the attachment ID"
### π‘ Tip: Multiple Upload Methods
The upload_attachment tool supports **3 different ways** to provide files:
1. **File Path**: Upload directly from your filesystem using `filePath` parameter
2. **Base64 Content**: Upload encoded content using `fileContent` and `fileName` parameters
3. **Data URL**: Upload from data URLs using `fileUrl` and `fileName` parameters
**Remember**: Temporary attachments expire after 2 hours if not linked to a case!
## get_case_attachments
- "What attachments are associated with case ON6E5R-DIYRECIPE-WORK R-1009?"
- "Show me all files and URLs attached to my Recipe Collection case"
- "Get attachment details including thumbnails for my case"
- "List the attachments for case R-1009 with full metadata and available actions"
### π‘ Tip: Thumbnail Support
Use `includeThumbnails=true` to get base64-encoded thumbnails for image attachments. Note that thumbnails significantly increase response size, so use them only when needed for displaying images in your interface.
## get_attachment
- "Can you get the content of this attachment for me?"
- "Download the content from attachment LINK-ATTACHMENT ON6E5R-DIYRECIPE-WORK R-1009!20250911T095425.822 GMT"
- "Show me what's inside this file attachment - I need to see the actual content"
### π‘ Tip: Different Content Types
The get_attachment tool handles **3 types of attachment content**:
1. **File Attachments**: Returns base64-encoded content with size estimation and preview
2. **URL Attachments**: Returns the URL link with safety guidance
3. **Correspondence**: Returns HTML email content with parsed metadata
**How to get attachment IDs**: Use `get_case_attachments` first to see all attachments and their IDs, then use those IDs with `get_attachment` to retrieve the actual content.
## delete_attachment
- "Can you delete this attachment from my case?"
- "Remove attachment LINK-ATTACHMENT ON6E5R-DIYRECIPE-WORK R-1009!20250911T104859.375 GMT from the case"
- "I need to permanently delete this file attachment that's no longer needed"
### π‘ Tip: Permanent Deletion Warning
The delete_attachment tool performs **permanent deletion** that cannot be undone. Key points:
1. **Case History Updated**: All deletions are recorded in case history for audit purposes
2. **Permission Required**: You need delete privileges for the attachment category (either self-delete or category-wide)
3. **Multi-Link Support**: If attachment is linked to multiple cases, only the specific link is removed
4. **Verification Recommended**: Use `get_attachment` to verify details before deletion
**How to get attachment IDs**: Use `get_case_attachments` to see all attachments and their full Link-Attachment instance IDs, then use those exact IDs with `delete_attachment`. The tool validates the proper LINK-ATTACHMENT format automatically.

- "Unlink case R-1048 from my primary Recipe Collection case"
- "I need to delete the relationship between these two related cases"
## add_case_followers
- "Can you add SystemAdmin as a follower to my case ON6E5R-DIYRECIPE-WORK R-1009?"
- "I need to add multiple users to follow my Recipe Collection case for notifications"
- "Add the users TestUser1 and TestUser2 as followers to case R-1059"
### π‘ Tip: Individual User Results
The add_case_followers tool processes **each user individually** within bulk requests. If you add multiple users and some are invalid, you'll get individual success/error responses for each user. Valid users will be added successfully (status 201) while invalid users will show detailed error messages. The tool also prevents duplicate followers with clear "already a follower" messages.
### π‘ Tip: User ID Validation
Make sure to use **valid user IDs** that exist in your Pega system. The tool validates each user against the user directory and will return "User [ID] is not valid" errors for non-existent users. Use actual operator IDs like "SystemAdmin" rather than made-up test names.
## delete_case_follower
- "Can you remove SystemAdmin as a follower from case ON6E5R-DIYRECIPE-WORK R-1009?"
- "I need to unsubscribe a user from my Recipe Collection case notifications"
- "Delete the follower TestUser1 from case R-1059"
### π‘ Tip: Clean Removal
The delete_case_follower tool cleanly removes follower associations and returns a simple success response. If the user wasn't following the case, you'll get a clean "No data found" result rather than an error - this is normal behavior for already-removed followers.
## get_case_followers
- "Can you show me who is following case R-1059?"
- "List all the followers for my Recipe Collection case"
- "Who is subscribed to receive notifications for this case?"
## get_case_tags
- "What tags are associated with my Recipe Collection case R-1009?"
- "Can you show me all the tags for case ON6E5R-DIYRECIPE-WORK R-1059?"
- "How do I check if my case has any organizational tags?"
## add_case_tags
- "Can you add tags 'Recipe' and 'Testing' to my case ON6E5R-DIYRECIPE-WORK R-1009?"
- "I need to add multiple organizational tags to my Recipe Collection case"
- "Add the tags 'Validation', 'Approved', and 'Ready' to case R-1059"
### π‘ Tip: Tag Character Support
The add_case_tags tool supports **alphanumeric characters, spaces, and basic international text** (like Chinese characters). However, **emoji and special symbols** (@#$%) may cause errors in some Pega environments. For best results, stick to simple text tags like "Recipe Testing" or "δΈζζ ηΎ".
## delete_case_tag
- "Can you delete the 'testing' tag from my case ON6E5R-DIYRECIPE-WORK R-1009?"
- "Remove a specific tag from my Recipe Collection case"
- "I need to delete the tag with key 'DATA-SOCIAL-TAG ON6E5R-DIYRECIPE-WORK!VALIDATION'"
### π‘ Tip: Tag ID Format Required
The delete_case_tag tool requires the **full tag key format**, not just the tag name. First use `get_case_tags` to see your current tags, then copy the exact `tagKey` value (like `DATA-SOCIAL-TAG ON6E5R-DIYRECIPE-WORK!TESTING`) to delete_case_tag. Simple tag names like "testing" won't work.
## get_document
- "Can you retrieve the content of document DOC-12345 from the system?"
- "Get me the base64 content for document DOCUMENT-ABC-123"
- "I need to download document content - what's in document ID XYZ-789?"
### π‘ Tip: Environment Limitation
The get_document tool works perfectly but requires valid document IDs from your Pega system. Documents are different from attachments - they're stored in Pega's content management system. If you don't have any documents, you can still test the tool with invalid IDs to see its excellent error handling, or contact your system administrator to create sample documents.
## remove_case_document
- "Can you remove document DOC-12345 from case ON6E5R-DIYRECIPE-WORK R-1009?"
- "I need to unlink document DOCUMENT-ABC-123 from the case"
- "Remove the document connection for document ID XYZ-789 from this case"
### π‘ Tip: Documents vs Attachments
The remove_case_document tool is for removing **documents** (content management system) from cases, not **attachments**. Documents and attachments are separate concepts in Pega. Use attachment tools (delete_attachment) for file/URL attachments, and this tool for formal document objects. Both tools have excellent error handling to guide you if you use the wrong type.
## get_case_type_bulk_action
- "What bulk actions are available for case type RecipeCollection?"
- "Can you check if Clone action is available as a bulk action for Recipe Collection cases?"
- "I need to see the bulk action metadata for BulkTest action on my case type"
### β οΈ Environment Note: Launchpad Only
The get_case_type_bulk_action tool is designed for **Pega Launchpad environments only**. If you're using Pega Constellation, this endpoint may not be available and will return 404 errors. The tool itself is production-ready and will work perfectly when bulk actions are configured in a supported environment. Contact your Pega administrator if you need bulk actions functionality.
## bulk_cases_patch
- "Can you update the status on multiple cases at once?"
- "I need to apply the same changes to cases R-1001, R-1002, and R-1003 - can you do this in one operation?"
- "Please perform a bulk update on these cases using the UpdateStatus action with detailed results."
### π‘ Rich Response Formatting
The bulk_cases_patch tool provides **comprehensive response details** including platform detection (Infinity vs Launchpad), individual case results, success/failure counts, and detailed troubleshooting information. Perfect for scenarios where you need detailed feedback on bulk operations.
## perform_bulk_action
- "Can you run an action on several cases simultaneously?"
- "I have a list of cases that need the same action applied - can you batch process them quickly?"
- "Please execute a bulk operation to update multiple Recipe Collection cases with new category information."
### β‘ Performance Focus
The perform_bulk_action tool offers **faster response times** with simpler formatting compared to bulk_cases_patch. Choose this tool when you need efficient bulk processing without detailed response analysis. Both tools use the same API endpoint and provide identical functionality.
