# Prometheus Metrics Implementation Summary
## Overview
Implemented comprehensive Prometheus metrics for session tracking in Session-Buddy MCP server. Metrics track session lifecycle, MCP event emission, and system health with proper Prometheus Counter, Histogram, and Gauge types.

**Purpose:** Core Prometheus metrics collectors
**Key Components:**
- `SessionMetrics` class with all Prometheus collectors
- Metrics for session lifecycle (start, end, duration)
- Metrics for MCP event emission (success, failure, duration)
- System health metrics (active sessions, quality scores)
- `get_metrics()` singleton accessor
- `track_operation_duration()` decorator for timing operations

**Purpose:** MCP tools for exposing metrics
**MCP Tools:**
1. `get_prometheus_metrics()` - Export metrics in Prometheus text format
2. `list_session_metrics()` - List available metrics with descriptions
3. `get_metrics_summary()` - Get summary statistics of metrics
**Features:**
- Graceful degradation if metrics module unavailable
- Proper error handling and logging
- Structured metadata responses

**Purpose:** Export Prometheus metrics tools registration
**Exports:**

- 1min, 5min, 15min, 30min, 1hr, 2hr, 4hr, 8hr
**MCP Event Duration:**
- 1ms, 5ms, 10ms, 25ms, 50ms, 100ms, 250ms, 500ms, 1s, 2.5s, 5s, 10s

**Component Labels:**
- `component_name`: Service/component name (e.g., "mahavishnu", "session-buddy")
- `shell_type`: Shell class name (e.g., "MahavishnuShell")
- `status`: Operation status ("success", "error")
