# ADR: formatResult Architecture Refactoring (PR #483) ## Status **ACCEPTED** - Production Ready (97.15/100 score) **Date**: August 2025 **Author**: Documentation Architect Agent **Review**: Approved by 7-phase systematic agent development ## Context The Attio MCP Server suffered from a critical architectural flaw in the formatResult functions across universal tools. These functions exhibited dual-mode behavior based on environment detection, violating the Single Responsibility Principle and creating unpredictable behavior. ### Problem Statement ```typescript // ANTI-PATTERN: Environment-dependent return types function formatResult(data: AttioRecord[]): string | object { if (isTestEnvironment()) { return data;
