# FreeCAD AI Provider Selection Improvements - Implementation Summary ## Overview Successfully implemented comprehensive improvements to the provider selection functionality in the FreeCAD AI addon to address all identified issues. ## Issues Resolved ### ✅ Issue 1: Provider Selection UI Missing from Chat/Agent Tabs **Problem**: Provider selection was isolated to the Providers tab only **Solution**: Created shared `ProviderSelectorWidget` and integrated into both tabs ### ✅ Issue 2: Chat Tab Provider Recognition **Problem**: Chat tab didn't recognize provider selection changes **Solution**: Enhanced provider service integration with real-time callbacks ### ✅ Issue 3: Provider Model Changes Not Working **Problem**: Model changes after configuration weren't properly propagated **Solution**: Added provider model update methods with proper signal propagation ## Implementation Details ### 1. Shared Provider Selector Widget (`gui/provider_selector_widget.py`) - **Reusable component** for consistent provider selection across tabs - **Provider dropdown** with status indicators - **Model selection dropdown** with real-time updates - **Status indicators** (connected/warning/error) with tooltips - **Refresh button** for manual provider updates - **Signal-based architecture** for loose coupling ### 2. Chat Tab Integration (`gui/conversation_widget.py`) - Added provider selector to top of conversation widget - Connected provider changes to AI message sending logic - Enhanced `_send_message()` to use current provider selection - Maintained backward compatibility with existing functionality ### 3. Agent Tab Integration (`gui/agent_control_widget.py`) - Added provider selector to top of agent control widget - Connected provider changes to agent manager - Added service connection methods for provider/config managers - Enhanced agent command processing with provider awareness ### 4.
