### ✅ Step 0: Check Prerequisites
Before you begin, verify you have:
1. **Windows 10 or 11**
2. **Administrator access** (may be needed for some installations)

## 📥 Step 1: Install Required Software (START HERE)
### 1.1 Install Python 3.10 or Higher
**Download:**
- Go to: **https://www.python.org/downloads/**
- Download **Python 3.11 or 3.12** (Windows installer 64-bit)
**Install:**
- Run the installer
- ⚠️ **CRITICAL:** Check **"Add Python to PATH"** at the bottom
- Click "Install Now"
**Verify:**
```powershell
python --version
pip --version
```
Expected output:
```
Python 3.11.5
pip 23.2.1
```
### 1.2 Install Git
**Download:**
- Go to: **https://git-scm.com/download/win**
- Download the installer
**Install:**
- Run installer with default settings
- Click "Next" through all steps
**Verify:**
```powershell
git --version
```
Expected: `git version 2.42.0` (or similar)
### 1.3 PostgreSQL (Optional - Skip for Development)
**For Development:** Skip this - SQLite is included with Python
**For Production Only:**
- Download from: **https://www.postgresql.org/download/windows/**
- Install with default settings
- Remember the `postgres` user password
