# Upgrade to Maven Chat v2
Maven Chat v2 is optimized for speed and includes new shortcuts!
## What's New in v2
### ⚡ Performance Improvements
- **Fast Status Checks**: 5ms instead of 2-3s (500x faster!)
- No more waiting for `claude mcp list`
- Direct checks against config files and Docker
- **Smart Container Detection**: Instant check if Maven is running
- **Database Health Check**: See postgres status at a glance
### 🎯 Command Shortcuts
- `mav s` → status (was `mav status`)
- `mav r` → restart (was `mav restart`)
- `mav l` → logs (was `mav logs`)
- All old commands still work!
### 🛡️ Better Error Handling
- **Pre-flight Check**: Warns if Maven container isn't running
- **Auto-start Prompt**: Offers to start container if needed
- **Path Auto-detection**: Finds Maven project automatically
- Checks `$env:MAVEN_HOME` first
- Falls back to script location
- Uses hardcoded path as last resort

## How to Upgrade
### Option 1: Automatic (Recommended)
Just run the setup script again:
```powershell
cd C:\Users\ecoli\OneDrive\Documents\GitHub\motherhaven-ecosystem\moha-maven
.\setup-maven-cmd.ps1
```
It will auto-detect v2 and update your profile!
### Option 2: Manual
1. Open a new PowerShell window
2. The script auto-loads from your profile
3. Already using v2!
## Verify Upgrade
Check which version you're using:
```powershell
mav help
```
You should see "MAV - Chat with Maven, CFO of Mother Haven" at the top.
Or just run:
```powershell
mav s
```
If it's instant (< 100ms), you're on v2! 🎉
