# Audit Implementation Summary
This document summarizes the improvements made as a result of the comprehensive security audit conducted on January 30, 2026.
## Critical Fixes Implemented ✅
### 1. API Key Exposure (CRITICAL) - RESOLVED
**Issue**: 6 API key files were committed to the repository with actual keys exposed.
**Actions Taken**:
- ✅ Removed all 6 API key JSON files from repository
- ✅ Updated `.gitignore` to prevent future exposure with patterns:
- `api-key*.json`
- `*.key`, `*.pem`
- `*.bak`, `*.old`, `*.new`, `*.tmp`
- ✅ Created `SECURITY_NOTICE.md` documenting the incident
- ⚠️ **MANUAL ACTION REQUIRED**:
- Revoke/rotate all exposed API keys in production
- Clean git history using BFG Repo-Cleaner or git-filter-repo
- Monitor for unauthorized key usage
**Files Changed**:
- `.gitignore` - Enhanced with security patterns
- `SECURITY_NOTICE.md` - Created incident documentation
- Removed: 6 API key files
---
### 2. Vulnerable Dependency: Hono (CRITICAL) - RESOLVED
**Issue**: Hono 4.11.6 had 4 known security vulnerabilities (XSS, cache poisoning, etc.)
**Actions Taken**:
- ✅ Updated Hono from 4.11.6 to 4.11.7
- ✅ Verified no vulnerabilities remain (`npm audit` shows 0 vulnerabilities)
- ✅ All tests pass with new version
**Vulnerabilities Fixed**:
