### Model Changes Applied
#### OpenAI Models
**Before:**
- Default: `gpt-4o-mini`
- Available: `['gpt-4o', 'gpt-4o-mini', 'gpt-4-turbo', 'gpt-4', 'gpt-3.5-turbo']`
**After (June 2025):**
- Default: `gpt-4.1-mini`
- Available: `['gpt-4.1', 'gpt-4.1-mini', 'gpt-4.1-nano', 'gpt-4o', 'gpt-4o-mini', 'o3', 'o3-mini', 'o4-mini']`
#### Gemini Models
**Before:**
- Default: `gemini-pro` (RETIRED)
- Available: `['gemini-pro', 'gemini-1.5-pro', 'gemini-1.5-flash']`
**After (June 2025):**
- Default: `gemini-2.5-flash`
- Available: `['gemini-2.5-pro', 'gemini-2.5-flash', 'gemini-2.5-pro-deep-think', 'gemini-2.5-flash-preview-05-20']`
### Validation Testing
✅ **Manual tests passed:**
- Model constants loaded correctly
- New default models working: `gpt-4.1-mini`, `gemini-2.5-flash`
- Model validation working for all new models
- Backwards compatibility maintained for existing models

## Key Benefits Achieved
1. **Fixed Critical Issue**: Removed dependency on retired `gemini-pro` model
2. **Performance Gains**: Default models now use latest, more efficient versions
3. **Cost Optimization**: GPT-4.1-mini is 80% cheaper than previous defaults
4. **Feature Access**: Access to thinking capabilities in Gemini 2.5 models
5. **Future-Proofing**: Updated to models that will be supported long-term
