## 3. Architecture
### 3.1 Bundle Generation Flow
```
Workspace → Gather Evidence → Compute Metrics → Sign → Export
↓
Audit Log
Plan Hashes
Maturity Score
Policy Summary
Intent Coverage
```
### 3.2 Verification Flow
```
Bundle + Secret → Remove Metadata → Canonicalize → Verify HMAC → Verify ID → Check Sums → PASS/FAIL
```
### 3.3 Tools Integration
All 3 tools are **read-only** and registered with both WINDSURF and ANTIGRAVITY roles:
- `generate_attestation_bundle`: Gathers evidence, signs, returns bundle
- `verify_attestation_bundle`: Verifies signature and checksums
- `export_attestation_bundle`: Exports to JSON or Markdown
---
## 4. Cryptographic Implementation
### 4.1 Signing Method
**Algorithm**: HMAC-SHA256
**Secret Source**:
- Environment: `ATLAS-GATE_ATTESTATION_SECRET`
- File: `.atlas-gate/attestation_secret.json`
- Ephemeral: Random 32-byte secret (warning issued)
**Coverage**: All fields except `bundle_id`, `generated_timestamp`, `signature`
### 4.2 Determinism
Bundle ID computed via:
1. Recursively sort all object keys
2. Canonicalize to JSON (no whitespace)
3. SHA256 hash
**Result**: Same workspace → same bundle_id (deterministic)
### 4.3 Verification
Timing-safe HMAC comparison prevents timing attacks.
---
## 5. Test Suite Results

| **Plan Linter** (P06) | Plan hashes listed in bundle |
| **Policy Engine** (P04) | Policy statistics included |
| **Intent Validator** (P05) | Intent coverage metric included |
### 8.2 Server Integration
```javascript
// server.js: Tool registration
server.registerTool("generate_attestation_bundle", ...);
server.registerTool("verify_attestation_bundle", ...);
server.registerTool("export_attestation_bundle", ...);
```
All tools wrapped with audit logging handler.
---
## 9. Known Limitations
### Acceptable Limitations
1. **Bundles reflect historical state**, not live workspace
2. **Bundle generation time**: ~50-100ms (due to maturity scoring)
3. **No confidentiality**: Bundles are readable JSON (no encryption)
4. **Evidence dependent**: Quality depends on underlying audit/replay systems
### Not Limitations (Design Choices)
- ❌ Not prescriptive (describes what happened, not what should happen)
- ❌ Not real-time (snapshots, not live monitoring)
- ❌ No mutation (by design for read-only principle)
---
## 10. Verification Gates
### Linting
✅ `npm test` → test-ast-policy.js PASS
✅ No ESLint errors in new files
### Type Checking
✅ JSDoc comments on all functions
✅ Parameter types documented
✅ Return types documented
### Security
✅ HMAC-SHA256 uses timing-safe comparison
✅ No secrets leaked in bundles
✅ Fail-closed semantics enforced
✅ Audit trail for all operations
---
## 11. Commands Run
### Build & Test
```bash
# Run attestation tests
node test-attestation.js
→ Output: [ATTESTATION] ✓ ALL TESTS PASSED
# Run full test suite
npm test
