# Implementation Summary - v0.2.0 ## Overview Successfully implemented **5 new MCP tools** bringing the total from **8 to 13 tools**, focused on project bootstrapping, configuration generation, and enhanced task management. ## New Tools Implemented ### 1. `list_tasks_verbose` ✅ **Purpose:** Execute `devpipe list --verbose` to show real execution statistics **What it does:** - Calls devpipe directly instead of parsing TOML - Shows average execution times - Displays task statistics from actual runs - Complements existing `list_tasks` (which parses config) **Usage:** ```json { "config": "./config.toml" } ``` ### 2. `analyze_project` ✅ **Purpose:** Auto-detect technologies and suggest missing tasks **What it does:** - Scans project directory for technology indicators - Detects: Go, Python, Node.js, TypeScript, Rust, Docker - Suggests appropriate tasks for each technology - Returns structured recommendations **Usage:** ```json { "projectPath": "/path/to/project" } ``` **Example Output:** ```json { "detectedTechnologies": ["Go", "Docker"], "suggestedTasks": [ {"technology": "Go", "taskType": "check-format", "reason": "go fmt for formatting"}, {"technology": "Go", "taskType": "check-lint", "reason": "golangci-lint for linting"} ] } ``` ### 3. `generate_task` ✅ **Purpose:** Generate ready-to-use task configurations from templates **What it does:** - Provides templates for common technologies - Generates proper TOML configuration - Includes best practices (auto-fix, metrics, etc.) - Supports multiple task types per technology **Supported Templates:** - **Go**: check-format, check-lint, check-static, test-unit, build - **Python**: check-format, check-lint, check-types, test-unit - **Node.js**: check-lint, test-unit, build - **TypeScript**: check-types **Usage:** ```json { "technology": "Go", "taskType": "check-lint", "taskId": "golangci-lint" } ``` **Output:** ```toml [tasks.golangci-lint] name = "Golang CI Lint" desc = "Runs comprehensive linting on Go code" type = "check" command = "golangci-lint run" fixType = "auto" fixCommand = "golangci-lint run --fix" ``` ### 4. `create_config` ✅ **Purpose:** Create complete config.toml from scratch **What it does:** - Generates full config.toml with defaults section - Auto-detects technologies using `analyze_project` - Organizes tasks by phase (validate, test, build) - Creates phase headers - Generates all suggested tasks - Ready to save and use **Usage:** ```json { "projectPath": "/path/to/project", "includeDefaults": true, "autoDetect": true } ``` **Output:** Complete config.toml with: - `[defaults]` section with outputRoot, fastThreshold, git settings - `[task_defaults]` section - Phase headers (validate, test, build) - Auto-generated tasks for detected technologies ### 5. `generate_ci_config` ✅ **Purpose:** Generate CI/CD configuration files **What it does:** - Generates GitHub Actions or GitLab CI configuration - Installs devpipe in CI environment - Runs pipeline with appropriate flags - Uploads artifacts and test results **Supported Platforms:** - GitHub Actions - GitLab CI **Usage:** ```json { "config": "./config.toml", "platform": "github" } ``` ## Technical Implementation ### Files Modified 1. **`src/utils.ts`** (+318 lines) - `listTasksVerbose()` - Execute devpipe list command - `analyzeProject()` - Detect technologies - `generateTaskConfig()` - Generate task TOML from templates - `createConfig()` - Generate complete config.toml - `generateCIConfig()` - Generate CI/CD configs 2. **`src/index.ts`** (+150 lines) - Added 5 new tool definitions - Added 5 new tool handlers - Updated imports 3. **`package.json`** - Version: 0.1.0 → 0.2.0 4. **`README.md`** (+200 lines) - Updated features list - Added documentation for all 5 new tools - Added usage examples - Added Bootstrap and CI/CD sections 5. **`Makefile`** - Added WORKDIR support for testing from specific directories ## Complete Tool List (13 Total) ### Core Tools (8) 1. `check_devpipe` - Check installation 2. `list_tasks` - Parse config.toml 3. `run_pipeline` - Execute devpipe 4. `validate_config` - Validate TOML 5. `get_last_run` - Get run results 6. `view_run_logs` - Read logs 7. `parse_metrics` - Parse JUnit/SARIF 8. `get_dashboard_data` - Get summary data ### New Tools (5) 9. `list_tasks_verbose` ⭐ - Verbose task listing 10. `analyze_project` ⭐ - Technology detection 11. `generate_task` ⭐ - Task template generation 12. `create_config` ⭐ - Complete config creation 13. `generate_ci_config` ⭐ - CI/CD config generation ## Use Cases ### 1. Set Up CI/CD ``` User: "Generate a GitHub Actions workflow" → Uses: generate_ci_config → Result: .github/workflows/ci.yml content ``` ### 4.
