For an example on how `requestHandler`s are used by Smithy generated SDK clients, refer to the [AWS SDK for JavaScript (v3) supplemental docs](https://github.com/aws/aws-sdk-js-v3/blob/main/supplemental-docs/CLIENTS.md#request-handler-requesthandler).
