# Project Run Status ## ✅ Completed Steps 1. **Virtual Environment**: Created successfully (`venv/`) 2. **Dependencies**: Installed successfully (with some compatibility fixes) 3. **Example Excel**: Created successfully (`examples/semiconductor_components.xlsx`) 4. **API Server**: **Running successfully** on `http://localhost:8000` ## ⚠️ Known Issues ### DLL Error with PyTorch (Windows) **Issue**: PyTorch DLL loading fails on Windows: ``` OSError: [WinError 1114] A dynamic link library (DLL) initialization routine failed. Error loading "torch\lib\c10.dll" or one of its dependencies. ``` **Impact**: - API server starts successfully - Health endpoint works: `http://localhost:8000/health` - File upload and question answering won't work (requires embeddings) **Solution**: See `SETUP_WINDOWS.md` for detailed instructions. ### Quick Fix Options 1. **Install Visual C++ Redistributables** (Recommended) - Download from: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/cpp/windows/latest-supported-vc-redist - Install both x64 and x86 versions - Restart computer - Restart server 2. **Use Conda Environment** (Alternative) ```bash conda create -n mcp2 python=3.11 conda activate mcp2 conda install pytorch torchvision cpuonly -c pytorch pip install -r requirements.txt ``` 3. **Use WSL** (If DLL issues persist) - Windows Subsystem for Linux provides a Linux-like environment ## 📋 Current Status - ✅ Server running on `http://localhost:8000` - ✅ Health check working: `/health` - ⚠️ File upload: Requires DLL fix - ⚠️ Question answering: Requires DLL fix ## 🧪 Testing After fixing DLL issues: 1. **Test health**: ```bash curl http://localhost:8000/health ``` 2. **Upload file**: ```bash python test_api.py ``` 3. **Ask question**: ```bash curl -X POST "http://localhost:8000/ask" -H "Content-Type: application/json" -d '{"question": "What MOSFET components are available?"}' ``` ## 📝 Next Steps 1. Fix DLL issue using one of the solutions above 2. Restart server: `python main.py` 3. Test complete flow: `python test_api.py` 4. Access API docs: `http://localhost:8000/docs` ## 📚 Documentation - `SETUP_WINDOWS.md` - Detailed Windows setup guide - `README.md` - Project overview - `USAGE.md` - Usage instructions - `PROJECT_SUMMARY.md` - Complete project details
