# Stripe Payment Processor Setup - Summary
## Overview
Stripe has been configured as the **primary payment processor** for the Jakarta Migration MCP Server. Apify support has been deprecated and disabled by default.
## Changes Made
### 1. Configuration Updates
#### `application.yml`
- ✅ **Stripe enabled by default**: `STRIPE_VALIDATION_ENABLED: true` (was `false`)
- ✅ **Apify disabled by default**: `APIFY_VALIDATION_ENABLED: false` (was `true`)
- ✅ Apify configuration moved below Stripe with deprecation notice
### 2. Code Changes
#### `LicenseService.java`
- ✅ Stripe validation is now tried first for all license keys
- ✅ Apify service is optional (nullable) and only used if available
- ✅ Removed `isStripeKey()` check - Stripe now handles all key formats
- ✅ Updated documentation to reflect Stripe as primary
#### `ApifyLicenseService.java`
- ✅ Added `@ConditionalOnProperty` - only loads if `APIFY_VALIDATION_ENABLED=true`
- ✅ Added deprecation notice in class documentation
#### `JakartaMigrationConfig.java`
- ✅ Apify beans (WebClient, BillingService) are conditionally created
- ✅ Only created if `APIFY_VALIDATION_ENABLED=true`
- ✅ Added deprecation notices
### 3. Documentation Updates
#### Created/Updated:
- ✅ `docs/setup/STRIPE_SETUP.md` - Complete Stripe setup guide
- ✅ `docs/deployment/RAILWAY_ENVIRONMENT_VARIABLES.md` - Updated with Stripe as primary
- ✅ `docs/strategy/LICENSE_API_IMPLEMENTATION.md` - Added Stripe note
## Default Behavior
### With Default Configuration:
- ✅ **Stripe**: Enabled and active
- ❌ **Apify**: Disabled and not loaded (services won't be created)
### To Enable Apify (Not Recommended):

## Required Environment Variables
### Minimum for Stripe:

STRIPE_PRODUCT_ID_ENTERPRISE=prod_... # Recommended

### To Enable Apify (Optional):

## License Key Validation Flow
1. **Stripe Validation** (Primary)
- Tries Stripe API for all license keys
- Supports: `sub_...`, `cus_...`, `stripe_...` formats
- Returns tier if subscription is active
2. **Apify Validation** (Optional, Deprecated)
- Only tried if Apify is enabled AND service is available
- Returns tier if Apify token is valid
3. **Test Keys** (Fallback)
- `PREMIUM-...` → PREMIUM tier
- `ENTERPRISE-...` → ENTERPRISE tier
## Migration Path
### For Existing Apify Users:
1. Set `APIFY_VALIDATION_ENABLED=true` temporarily
2. Set up Stripe account and products
3. Issue new Stripe-based license keys to users
4. Disable Apify: `APIFY_VALIDATION_ENABLED=false`
5. Remove Apify environment variables
### For New Deployments:
1. Set up Stripe (see `docs/setup/STRIPE_SETUP.md`)
2. Configure Stripe environment variables
3. Apify is automatically disabled (no action needed)

- ✅ Support for multiple payment methods
## Testing
### Test Stripe Setup:
1. Use test mode: `STRIPE_SECRET_KEY=sk_test_...`
2. Create test products in Stripe Dashboard
3. Create test subscriptions
4. Use test subscription IDs as license keys
### Test Keys (No Stripe Required):
- `PREMIUM-test-key-123` → PREMIUM tier
- `ENTERPRISE-test-key-123` → ENTERPRISE tier
## Next Steps
1. **Set up Stripe account** (see `docs/setup/STRIPE_SETUP.md`)
2. **Create products** for Premium and Enterprise tiers
3. **Configure environment variables** in Railway
4. **Test license validation** with test subscriptions
5. **Deploy to production** with live Stripe keys
