## Running Tests
### Prerequisites
1. **Gradle Wrapper** - Must be initialized
```powershell
# If Gradle is installed:
gradle wrapper --gradle-version 8.5
# Or run setup script:
.\scripts\setup.ps1
```
2. **Docker** - Required for component tests
```powershell
# Start Docker Desktop, then:
.\scripts\start-services.ps1
```
### Run All Tests
```powershell
# Using Gradle wrapper (once initialized):
.\gradlew.bat test
# Using mise (if installed):
mise run test
```
### Run Unit Tests Only
```powershell
.\gradlew.bat test --tests "*Test" --exclude-tests "*ComponentTest"
# Or using mise:
mise run test-unit
```
### Run Component Tests Only
```powershell
# Requires Docker to be running
.\gradlew.bat test --tests "com.yourproject.component.*"
# Or using mise:
mise run test-component
```
### Run E2E Tests Only
```powershell
# Requires Docker to be running
.\gradlew.bat test --tests "adrianmikula.jakartamigration.e2e.*"
# Or using mise:
mise run test-e2e
```
## Current Status
### ✅ Ready to Run
- All unit tests are written and ready
- All component tests are written and ready
- Test infrastructure is complete
### ⚠️ Needs Setup
- **Gradle Wrapper**: Not initialized (need Gradle installed or setup script)
- **Docker**: Not running (required for component tests)
## Next Steps
1. **Initialize Gradle Wrapper:**
- Install Gradle, or
- Run `.\scripts\setup.ps1` which handles this
2. **Start Docker:**
- Start Docker Desktop
- Run `.\scripts\start-services.ps1`
3. **Run Tests:**
```powershell
.\gradlew.bat test
```
## Expected Test Results
Once setup is complete, all tests should pass:
- ✅ ~15-20 unit tests
- ✅ ~10-15 component tests
- ✅ Total: ~25-35 tests
All tests follow TDD principles and have been written before implementation.
