# GitHub Repository Setup Instructions
## Step 1: Create GitHub Repository
1. Go to [GitHub.com](https://github.com) and sign in to your account
2. Click the "+" icon in the top right corner
3. Select "New repository"
4. Fill in the repository details:
- **Repository name**: `mcp-rust-slint-server`
- **Description**: `Model Context Protocol server for Rust ecosystem and Slint UI framework development`
- **Visibility**: Choose Public or Private as preferred
- **Do NOT initialize** with README, .gitignore, or license (we already have these)
5. Click "Create repository"
## Step 2: Push Your Code
After creating the repository, GitHub will show you a page with setup instructions. Use these commands in your terminal:
```bash
# Navigate to your project directory
cd C:\Users\Robyn.000\VSCode-Projects\mcp-rust-slint-server
# Add the GitHub repository as remote origin
git remote add origin https://github.com/RKTakami/mcp-rust-slint-server.git
# Push your code to GitHub
git branch -M main
git push -u origin main
```
## Step 3: Verify
1. Refresh your GitHub repository page
2. You should see all your files uploaded
3. The README.md will be automatically displayed on the repository page
## Alternative: Using GitHub CLI
If you have GitHub CLI installed, you can create the repository programmatically:
```bash
# Install GitHub CLI if not already installed
# Then authenticate
gh auth login
# Create the repository
gh repo create mcp-rust-slint-server --public --description "Model Context Protocol server for Rust ecosystem and Slint UI framework development"
# Push your code
git push -u origin main
```
## Repository URL
Once pushed, your repository will be available at:
**https://github.com/RKTakami/mcp-rust-slint-server**
## Next Steps
After pushing to GitHub, you can:
1. Add topics/tags to your repository
2. Create releases for different versions
3. Set up GitHub Actions for automated testing
4. Add collaborators if needed
5. Enable issues and discussions for community engagement
