## ADR Process
### When to Write an ADR
Write an ADR when you:
- Make a significant architectural decision
- Choose between multiple viable approaches
- Make a decision that would be costly to reverse
- Want to document the reasoning for future team members
### How to Write an ADR
1. Copy `template.md` to a new file: `NNNN-short-title.md`
2. Fill in all sections
3. Submit for review if needed
4. Update status as decisions evolve
5. Add entry to the index above
### ADR Statuses
- **Proposed** - Under discussion, not yet decided
- **Accepted** - Decision made and in effect
- **Deprecated** - No longer applies (superseded or context changed)
- **Superseded** - Replaced by another ADR (link to replacement)
