## The Bottom Line
### For ChatGPT Integration:
**Use mcp2.** The implementation is production-ready with:
- JWT tokens (self-validating)
- JWKS endpoint (public key distribution)
- Token introspection (fallback validation)
- Proper OAuth metadata (RFC 8414 compliant)
### Why mcp Fails:
- Missing JWKS endpoint → ChatGPT cannot validate tokens
- Opaque tokens → No cryptographic proof of authenticity
- Missing introspection → No fallback validation
- No issuer/audience validation → Security issues
### The Fix:
mcp needs 4 things to work with ChatGPT:
1. JWKS endpoint at `/.well-known/jwks.json`
2. Convert tokens from opaque to JWT
3. Token introspection endpoint
4. Update metadata with `jwks_uri`
**Effort**: ~180 lines of code changes, or switch to mcp2 (recommended)
