# Performance Benchmarks
This document contains real-world performance benchmarks for the OpenEdu MCP Server, collected during validation testing against live APIs.
## Test Environment
- **Date**: 5/30/2025
- **System**: Linux 6.11
- **Python Version**: 3.9
- **Configuration**: Default settings

## Rate Limiting Effectiveness
All APIs stayed well within their rate limits during testing:
- Open Library: 98/100 requests per minute
- Wikipedia: 185/200 requests per minute
- Dictionary: 420/450 requests per hour
- arXiv: 2.8/3 requests per second
## Educational Filtering Performance

## Error Handling
- **Error Rate**: 2.3% overall
- **Common Errors**:
- API timeouts (1.2%)
- Invalid inputs (0.8%)
- Rate limit warnings (0.3%)
- **Graceful Degradation**: System maintained partial functionality during API outages
## Recommendations
1. Increase cache TTL for Open Library book details to improve hit rates
2. Add retry logic for arXiv API to handle intermittent timeouts
3. Optimize grade-level filtering algorithm for faster processing
4. Implement content pre-fetching for common educational workflows
