# Riksarkivet Tools Plugin for Claude Code
A Claude Code plugin providing skills for archive research workflows — search strategy, research methodology, HTR transcription, document viewing, and file uploads.

## Skills
### `/archive-search`
Essential pre-search guide. Covers tool selection (`search_transcribed` vs `search_metadata`), Solr query syntax, wildcards, fuzzy matching for OCR/HTR errors, old Swedish spelling variants (präst/prest, silver/silfver), proximity search, Boolean operators, and pagination workflows.

### `/archive-research`
Research methodology guide. Covers research integrity rules (never fabricate data, always cite precisely), cross-tool research workflow (discover → examine → contextualize → synthesize), browsing strategy, result presentation templates with proper citations, and coverage awareness across the archive's three access tiers.

### `/htr-transcription`
HTR workflow guide. Covers the full pipeline: determine image source, batch all images into a single `htr_transcribe` call, present results as an inline artifact with the interactive viewer. Documents language options (Swedish, Norwegian, English, medieval), layout modes, export formats (ALTO XML, PAGE XML, JSON), and custom HTRflow YAML pipelines.

## How Skills Work
Skills are loaded as MCP resources via FastMCP's `SkillsDirectoryProvider`. The root server discovers skill directories from `plugins/*/skills/` at startup. Each skill is a `SKILL.md` file with YAML frontmatter (name, description) and markdown content.
## Adding a New Skill
1. Create a directory under `plugins/ra-mcp-tools/skills/{skill-name}/`
2. Add a `SKILL.md` file with frontmatter:
