Available Tools
4 toolsforgetDestructiveIdempotentInspect
Soft-delete a memory by mem-* ID, or with wipe_history=true permanently purge all revisions (IRREVERSIBLE). When wipe_history is true, confirm_irreversible_wipe must also be true or a confirmation prompt is returned. Soft-delete (default) is safe and reversible.
| Name | Required | Description | Default |
|---|---|---|---|
| target_id | Yes | Memory ID (mem-xxxx or team-slug:mem-xxxx). | |
| wipe_history | No | If true, permanently purge all revisions and blank the body (IRREVERSIBLE). Otherwise soft-delete only. When true, confirm_irreversible_wipe must also be true or a confirmation prompt is returned instead. | |
| confirm_irreversible_wipe | No | Required confirmation when wipe_history is true. Must be explicitly set to true to authorize irreversible permanent purge of all revisions. If wipe_history is true and this field is missing or false, the tool returns a confirmation prompt instead of executing the destructive action. |
Output Schema
| Name | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|
| wiped | No | Whether revision history was permanently purged |
| deleted | Yes | Whether the memory was deleted |
| success | Yes | Whether the operation succeeded |
| traceId | Yes | Trace ID for debugging |
keepInspect
Store a new memory in Maindex (Smart). Provide the content to persist, with optional headline, tags, collections, and metadata. Each call creates a distinct memory — not idempotent. CONTENT POLICY: NEVER store passwords, API keys, secrets, credit card numbers, SSNs, government IDs, medical/health records (PHI/HIPAA), biometric data, or any legally protected PII. Sanitize content before storing.
| Name | Required | Description | Default |
|---|---|---|---|
| tags | No | Optional tags for categorization. | |
| team | No | Team workspace slug when keeping into a team collection. | |
| content | Yes | Primary text to store; required. | |
| rewrite | No | FAILSAFE — defaults to false. When false (the default), content is stored exactly as provided with zero LLM processing. Set to true ONLY if the caller explicitly opts into LLM-assisted rewriting for improved clarity and structure. No content transformation occurs unless this flag is explicitly true. | |
| headline | No | Optional headline; Smart may generate one if omitted. | |
| metadata | No | Opaque JSON metadata stored with the memory. | |
| collection | No | Target team collection slug. Required when team is set. | |
| collections | No | Collection slugs or IDs to add the new memory to. |
Output Schema
| Name | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|
| memory | Yes | The created memory object, or null on failure |
| success | Yes | Whether the memory was created successfully |
| traceId | Yes | Trace ID for debugging |
recallRead-onlyIdempotentInspect
Search and retrieve memories from Maindex (Smart). Modes: relevant (default), exact, current_state, history, recent. query is required unless mode is recent. Read-only for tenant memory data.
| Name | Required | Description | Default |
|---|---|---|---|
| mode | No | Recall mode: relevant (semantic search), exact (literal match), current_state (latest revision only), history (revision trail), recent (newest first). | relevant |
| team | No | Limit recall to a team workspace (team slug). Omit for personal scope. | |
| limit | No | Maximum results (default 20). | |
| query | No | Search text. Required unless mode is `recent`. Omit for a recency-sorted list (optionally filtered). | |
| filters | No | Optional filters applied to recall results. |
Output Schema
| Name | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|
| items | Yes | Matching memory items |
| total | Yes | Total number of matching memories |
| traceId | Yes | Trace ID for debugging |
| synthesis | No | LLM-generated synthesis when entropy is high |
updateInspect
Update an existing memory in Maindex (Smart) by mem-* ID. Supply content, headline, tags, and/or metadata; at least one field is required. Each successful update creates a new revision (Expert semantics). CONTENT POLICY: NEVER store passwords, API keys, secrets, credit card numbers, SSNs, government IDs, medical/health records (PHI/HIPAA), biometric data, or any legally protected PII.
| Name | Required | Description | Default |
|---|---|---|---|
| changes | Yes | Fields to change; at least one of content, headline, tags, or metadata is required. | |
| rewrite | No | FAILSAFE — defaults to false. When false (the default), content is stored exactly as provided with zero LLM processing. Set to true ONLY if the caller explicitly opts into LLM-assisted rewriting for improved clarity and structure. No content transformation occurs unless this flag is explicitly true. | |
| target_id | Yes | Memory ID (mem-xxxx or team-slug:mem-xxxx). |
Output Schema
| Name | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|
| memory | Yes | The updated memory object, or null on failure |
| success | Yes | Whether the update succeeded |
| traceId | Yes | Trace ID for debugging |
