10 toolsadd_podcasts_to_listAdd podcasts to a listDestructiveIdempotentInspect
Save shows into one of the user's Grep.FM lists, creating the list when none has that name. The user can open the list in Grep.FM to review it, add notes, export it as CSV or follow its new episodes. Shows already in the list are skipped; nothing is ever removed.
| Name | Required | Description | Default |
|---|---|---|---|
| podcasts | Yes | Grep.FM podcast ids, up to 100 per call. | |
| list_name | Yes | The list to add to, matched without regard to case, for example "Q3 guest pitches". |
find_similar_podcastsFind similar podcastsRead-onlyInspect
Shows like this one, for widening a shortlist from one good match.
similar: shows listeners of this one also follow, or failing that, shows alike in category, activity and size. shared_guests: shows connected through people, grouped by person and then by how: booked (booked the same guest), hosts (the guest hosts it) and host_guested (this show's host appeared on it as a guest); get_podcast tells more about any of them. Link a show by putting its id into podcast_link.
| Name | Required | Description | Default |
|---|---|---|---|
| podcast | Yes | A Grep.FM podcast id, or a Grep.FM, Apple Podcasts, Spotify or RSS feed URL. |
get_chartGet chartRead-onlyInspect
Today's top podcasts chart for a country on Apple Podcasts or Spotify, overall or for one category: each show's place, its move since the previous chart, and its Grep.FM id when the show is in the database (pass it to get_podcast, or put it into podcast_link to link the show). Spotify also has a Trending chart.
| Name | Required | Description | Default |

| limit | No | How many places to return, 1 to 200. | |
| country | No | An ISO country code such as us, gb or de, or the English name. | us |

get_listsGet listsRead-onlyInspect
The user's Grep.FM lists, their own and those shared by their team. A list of shows holds the podcasts saved to it; a saved search holds filters and always shows the shows matching them now. Pass a list's name to search_podcasts as list to see or filter its shows.
| Name | Required | Description | Default |

No parameters | |||
get_podcastGet podcastRead-onlyInspect
One show in depth: description, publishing rhythm, ratings, chart positions, recent guests and sponsors, social accounts with follower counts, links and the latest episodes. Contact emails come from get_podcast_contacts, listener reviews from get_podcast_reviews.

get_podcast_contactsGet podcast contactsDestructiveIdempotentInspect
Contact emails for up to 25 shows, most reliable first (the feed owner's address leads when known).
Each show whose emails are returned counts once toward the user's monthly export quota, the same quota as CSV exports; asking again for a show within 30 days is free, and shows without an email cost nothing. When the quota runs out the remaining shows come back without emails.

search_podcastsSearch podcastsRead-onlyInspect
Search Grep.FM's database of 3M+ podcasts with the same filters as the Grep.FM app: keyword, category, language, activity, publishing rhythm, audience size (ratings, social followers, chart positions), guests and sponsors found in recent episodes (search_by guests or sponsors finds shows by a person or a brand), whether a contact email is on file, and more.
Each show comes with its audience, guest and sponsor signals and has_email; the emails themselves come from get_podcast_contacts. guest_episodes and sponsor_episodes count among analyzed_episodes, the recent episodes AI has read. Link a show by putting its id into podcast_link. Without a keyword or order_by, results follow a quality ranking. grepfm_url opens the same search in the Grep.FM app, where every result can be browsed and exported.
