Search the news published in the last hours and days. For a question about what is new, what was just published or what the press says about a topic, person, company, show or event: news sites and blogs in 45 languages are read at the moment of the call, repeated coverage is grouped into one story and each story is checked for relevance. Returns the relevant stories from the last 24 hours, each with a link, its source and how many sources cover it. days 2-7 adds a second page with older stories: with days=5, the first page has the last 24 hours and the second page the best stories from the 4 days before that. When a page has more, call again with the same query and its cursor for further stories: only new ones, plus updates (more coverage) for stories already returned. limit (30 unless given, at most 100) is the most stories a page has: the most covered and most relevant come first, and omitted says how many more there were. Results are in English by default; language (e.g. "French") limits them to one language, "all" includes every language. A language or country named in the query in its own language ("română", "España") limits the results to it. For a topic the press covers in another language (a local show, person, company or place, or a question asked in that language), set language to it. filters: up to 5 plain-language preferences that leave out stories that don't fit, e.g. "Skip opinion pieces and listicles", "Only news from Europe", "Nothing about Google or its products" (each under 200 characters). They apply to the whole search, cursor pages included, so give them on the first call; stats.hidden says how many stories they left out. Each new query uses 1 credit of your plan (credits_left); its cursor pages and filters are included. briefing: true adds a few AI-written sentences on the first page's main news, each citing the ids of the stories it comes from (no extra credit, a few seconds more; off by default). A call can take several seconds.
