PARTIAL SAVE: writes ONLY the 'Season' field of TitlePublicConfigurationModel; all other v1/v2 fields stay untouched. Long-form seasonal progression — battle passes, chapters, ladders. Defines a season's start/end window, XP/progress curve, tier rewards (free + premium tracks), and the Premium pass that unlocks paid rewards. For short events use TimedEvent.

TDQS

A3.6/5.0
Behavior3/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Annotations already declare readOnlyHint=false and destructiveHint=true, so the safety profile is known. The description adds real value by scoping the blast radius (only the Season field changes, other v1/v2 fields untouched), but it never says whether the Season dictionary is replaced wholesale or merged, nor what happens to existing chains on a repeat save — important for a destructive nested write.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness4/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Front-loading "PARTIAL SAVE" is exactly the right lead for a destructive write and the payload sentence is tight. The feature laundry list in the middle is the weakest part — it costs tokens while describing concepts not present in the schema.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness3/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

For a destructive save with a very large nested object schema and no output schema, the description covers scope but omits merge-vs-replace semantics and any success/validation behavior. An agent can decide to call it, but not predict precisely what a save does to existing season data.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters3/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema description coverage is 100% with only two parameters, so the schema carries both title_id and the deeply nested season structure. The description adds no field-level meaning and in fact conflicts mildly with the schema, which states that start/end dates are NOT stored and are computed from SeasonChainDefinition.AnchorUtc, while the description claims the tool "defines a season's start/end window."

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose4/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

"PARTIAL SAVE: writes ONLY the 'Season' field of TitlePublicConfigurationModel" names a specific verb, resource, and write scope, and the closing line distinguishes it from the TimedEvent domain. The middle sentences (battle passes, XP/progress curve, free+premium tracks) overstate the actual SeasonDefinition schema, which has no XP curve or premium-pass object, so the framing is slightly loose.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

"For short events use TimedEvent" is an explicit alternative with the selecting condition, which is exactly what an agent needs to route between siblings. It stops short of guidance for adjacent siblings like save_title_data or whether get_season should be read first before overwriting.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
