Save Reward settings

save_reward
Destructive

PARTIAL SAVE: writes ONLY the 'Reward' field of TitlePublicConfigurationModel; all other v1/v2 fields stay untouched. Reward templates — reusable bundles of currency + items + buffs that can be granted to a player. Referenced by Quest, TimedEvent, CoopEvent, Season, DailyLogin, Referral, etc. Define a reward once here, then reference it everywhere instead of inlining payouts.

A3.8/5.0
Behavior3/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Annotations already declare readOnlyHint=false, destructiveHint=true and openWorldHint=false, so the safety profile is known. The description earns credit for the non-obvious 'PARTIAL SAVE' scope — only the Reward field is touched, all other v1/v2 fields survive — but it never says whether the whole Reward object is replaced (i.e. omitted subsections like Claims or DailyCalendars get wiped), which is exactly the risk a destructive write carries.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness4/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Three tight sentences, correctly front-loaded with the PARTIAL SAVE constraint that a caller most needs to see. The final clause restates the 'define once, reference everywhere' idea already implied by the template sentence, and the currency/items/buffs framing is imprecise against the schema.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness3/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

Given a very large nested payload, a destructive write annotation and no output schema, the description covers the operation's scope but omits the highest-value facts: whether the save replaces the entire Reward block (data-loss risk), and any prerequisite such as reading existing state first. Adequate for a config-save tool, but not complete enough for a destructive overwrite of a complex document.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters3/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema description coverage is 100%, so the deep nested payload is already self-documenting and a baseline 3 applies. The description adds only a loose characterization, 'bundles of currency + items + buffs', which does not match the schema's actual scope (Claims, Presets, Comebacks, TierRewards, IdleAccruals, DailyCalendars, MilestoneRewardMultiplier) and adds nothing about title_id or how the value object is structured.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose5/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

States a specific verb plus the exact target field ('writes ONLY the Reward field of TitlePublicConfigurationModel'), then explains what that field holds (reward templates referenced by Quest, TimedEvent, CoopEvent, etc.). An agent can immediately tell this apart from siblings like save_quest or save_currency without opening the schema.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

Gives real design guidance — 'Define a reward once here, then reference it everywhere instead of inlining payouts' — which tells the agent when this tool is the right one rather than embedding payouts in a quest or event config. It stops short of explicit exclusions (e.g. use get_reward first to avoid clobbering existing sections), so it is clear context rather than a full when/when-not matrix.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
