Save Purchase settings

save_purchase
Destructive

PARTIAL SAVE: writes ONLY the 'Purchase' field of TitlePublicConfigurationModel; all other v1/v2 fields stay untouched. Real-money in-app purchases (IAP) for Google Play and the Apple App Store. Product catalogue with per-store SKUs (StoreProductIDs), what each purchase grants (Rewards), subscription products that activate a Premium entitlement, audience gates and purchase limits, plus per-store receipt-verification settings. Distinct from Store (in-game shop paid with virtual currency) and from Premium (which describes the entitlement itself, while this describes how it is sold in the stores). Contains NO secrets: the Google service-account JSON and the App Store Server API key are referenced by TitleSecrets entry name only; the Play licensing public key and Apple root certificates are public by nature and live here.

A4.5/5.0
Behavior5/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Annotations already flag destructiveHint=true and readOnlyHint=false, but the description adds the crucial nuance that this is a PARTIAL, scoped write — other v1/v2 fields stay untouched — which meaningfully changes how an agent should treat a destructive save. It also adds security context ('Contains NO secrets... referenced by TitleSecrets entry name only'), which annotations cannot convey.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness4/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

It is front-loaded with the most important fact (PARTIAL SAVE / scoped write) and every sentence contributes — content summary, sibling differentiation, secrets handling. It is a dense single paragraph that could be slightly better structured, but nothing is wasted.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness4/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

Given a very complex nested schema and no output schema, the description supplies the essential behavioral and scope context an agent needs. It doesn't cover error/response behavior or idempotency, but with the destructive/partial-save framing and secrets note, it is largely complete for correct invocation.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters4/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

With 2 params and 100% schema coverage, the baseline is 3; however the description adds real meaning by summarizing the deeply nested 'value' payload's contents (per-store SKUs, Rewards, subscriptions, audience gates, limits, receipt-verification settings), helping the agent understand the structure before drilling into the large schema.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose5/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

The description opens with a specific verb+resource: 'PARTIAL SAVE: writes ONLY the Purchase field of TitlePublicConfigurationModel'. It then defines what that field covers (IAP) and explicitly names the siblings it is NOT — Store and Premium — so an agent can route correctly without opening the schema.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

The 'Distinct from Store... and from Premium' clause provides clear when-not guidance routing the agent away from related siblings. Usage context (configuring real-money IAP for Play/App Store) is clear, though it doesn't explicitly mention the read-side alternative get_purchase or state prerequisites for calling save.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
