Save Character settings

Destructive

PARTIAL SAVE: writes ONLY the 'Character' field of TitlePublicConfigurationModel; all other v1/v2 fields stay untouched. Character/hero catalogue — playable units, NPCs, summons. Defines stats, abilities, evolution/level-up paths, art/asset references. Distinct from Item (generic inventory) — characters typically have progression and abilities. Skins (alternative looks) live per character in Skins.Definitions, and each skin IS a non-stackable, non-expiring Item from the Item section (Skins.Definitions..Item) — create that item first; any system that grants items (Store offers, lootboxes, season, quests, rewards) then grants the skin, and Item.Stats, if set, count toward Power like gear.

TDQS

A4.5/5.0
Behavior5/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Annotations already declare a destructive write, and the description adds crucial scope: only the Character field is written while all other v1/v2 fields stay untouched. It also discloses the cross-module dependency that each skin must exist as a non-stackable item before the character config references it.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness4/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

The critical partial-save constraint is front-loaded, and the skin creation guidance is operationally relevant. Some middle sentences about playable units, NPCs, and summons restate domain context and could be trimmed, but the description remains scannable.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness4/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

Given the very rich nested schema and destructive annotation, the description covers the important behavioral scope and cross-entity prerequisites. It stops short of stating whether the Character field is replaced or merged, and does not describe the save response, but the schema carries most structural detail.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters4/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema coverage is 100%, so the baseline is 3. The description adds that 'value' is specifically the Character branch of TitlePublicConfigurationModel and that skin entries reference pre-existing items, though it adds little about title_id or whether the Character field is replaced wholesale.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose5/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

Opens with 'PARTIAL SAVE: writes ONLY the Character field', giving a specific verb, resource, and scope. It distinguishes the character catalogue from Item and explains that skins are backed by items, so an agent can tell it apart from save_item and get_character.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

Provides clear usage context: persist the Character field without touching other v1/v2 fields, and create the skin's backing item before referencing it. It does not explicitly name when not to use it or route to a sibling save/get tool, so it falls short of a 5.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
