What are MCP Connectors?
Written by punkpeye on .
MCP Connectors on Glama are integrations that allow you to securely connect to remote MCP servers hosted by third-party services using API keys or OAuth authentication.
Unlike Glama's MCP hosting (where you host your own MCP servers on our platform), connectors enable you to access external services such as:
GitHub - Access repositories, issues, and pull requests
Google Drive - Connect to your files and documents
Slack - Integrate with your workspace
Other third-party MCP servers - Any service offering MCP-compatible APIs
Benefits of Using Connectors Through Glama
Once connected, these external MCP servers become seamlessly integrated into your Glama workspace:
Universal availability - Use connected MCPs across Chat, Automations, and Gateway without reconfiguring authentication
Full observability - Monitor server availability, inspect exchanged messages, and track usage just like self-hosted MCPs
Tool management - Audit and modify available tools to control what actions the MCP can perform
Centralized authentication - Authenticate once and use the connection across all your projects
Note: Connectors are for connecting to external services, while Glama's MCP hosting lets you run and host your own MCP servers.
