Prerequisites

  • Node.js 18+ and npm

  • Gmail account (for email functionality)

  • MCP-compatible AI assistant (Claude Desktop, etc.)

Installation & Setup

1. Clone and Install Dependencies

# Navigate to project directory
cd "New MCP Serever"

# Install server dependencies
npm install

# Install frontend dependencies (optional)
cd frontend && npm install && cd ..

2. Configure Email Service

Create a .env file in the root directory:

EMAIL_USER=your-email@gmail.com
EMAIL_APP_PASSWORD=your-app-password

Email Setup Instructions:

  1. Enable 2-factor authentication on your Gmail account

  2. Generate an app-specific password:

    • Go to Google Account settings

    • Security → 2-Step Verification → App passwords

    • Generate password for "Mail"

  3. Use the generated password as EMAIL_APP_PASSWORD

3. Build the Server

npm run build

Usage

As MCP Server

  1. Start the server:

    npm start
    # or for development
    npm run dev
  2. Configure in Claude Desktop (claude_desktop_config.json):

  3. Use in Claude Desktop:

Next.js Playground (Optional)

cd frontend
npm run dev

Visit http://localhost:3000 to access the interactive playground.
