Confluence MCP Server — Cursor

A local MCP server for Cursor: the agent searches and reads Confluence Server / Data Center pages using a Personal Access Token.

Page writing is not implemented. Confluence Cloud (a different URL and Basic-auth) is not supported by this connector.

What it can do

The token lives only in ~/.cursor/mcp.json. It does not end up in git.

Quick start

PAT: in Confluence, open your profile → Settings → Personal Access Tokens → create a token.

CONFLUENCE_BASE_URL — the wiki root without the /rest/api suffix and without a trailing slash. For compatibility, the variable name PAT is also accepted.

Reload MCP: Cursor → Settings → MCP. The confluence indicator should turn green.

Check in chat: “Show my spaces in Confluence” or “Read page 123456”.

Limitations

• Read-only. You cannot create or edit a page via MCP.

• API — Confluence Server / Data Center (/rest/api/..., Authorization: Bearer).

• get-page returns storage HTML, not Markdown. The agent must strip ac: macros itself.

• CQL is limited by PAT permissions: other users' spaces are not visible.
