ONS Baby Names API — MCP Server

An MCP (Model Context Protocol) server that exposes England & Wales baby names data from the ONS birth registration dataset, deployable to Vercel.

Once deployed, you can connect Claude (or any MCP-compatible client) to ask questions like:

  • "What were the top baby names in 2024?"

  • "How has the popularity of Oliver changed over time?"

  • "What names are similar to Olivia for girls?"

  • "Which area had the most babies called Alfie in 2024?"

Deploy to Vercel

The MCP endpoint will be available at:

Local development

The server will start on http://localhost:8000/mcp.

Data source

Data is served from ons-baby-names-api.netlify.app, generated from ONS birth registration statistics for England & Wales. Source code: henryjameslau/baby-names-api.

This server cannot be deployed
