CuttingToolsAI MCP Server

Public, no-auth MCP server for brand-neutral carbide grade cross-referencing in machining. Ask an AI agent what is comparable to Sandvik GC4325 and get catalog-verified comparable grades across manufacturers, with provenance.

Tool: grade_xref

Arguments: grade, required, e.g. GC4325 or KC5010; brand, optional, to disambiguate the grade.

Returns comparable grades that share the same ISO application position in manufacturer-published comparison charts. Comparability is a verified starting point, not an interchangeability claim: chipbreaker geometry, coating and edge preparation differ between brands. The server never invents a grade; unknown codes return an empty result.

The hosted endpoint above needs no setup. To run your own instance:

The server speaks MCP Streamable HTTP (JSON-RPC 2.0 over POST) on /mcp and /. src/index.js is the same handler deployed as the Cloudflare Worker; server.js is a thin Node adapter around it.

A thin Cloudflare Worker speaking MCP Streamable HTTP, passing through to the public REST endpoint https://cuttingtoolsai.eu/api/xref. The data layer is a curated cross-reference table extracted from manufacturer catalogs with multi-source verification tiers.
