Life Assistant MCP Server (Life Assistant Mini Toolbox)

An MCP server based on the HelloAgents framework, bundling three capabilities—weather query + trending news + text processing—into a compact toolbox. All use public APIs without API keys, with only 96 lines of code, simple and uncomplicated.

Features

• 🌤️ Weather Query: Real-time weather for 12 major Chinese cities (wttr.in, no API key required)

• 🔥 Trending News: Toutiao Hot List / Baidu Hot Search TOP10

• 🔍 News Search: Search latest news by keyword (Bing News RSS, no API key required)

• ✂️ Text Tools: Reverse, count words, convert to uppercase, convert to lowercase

Installation

pip install hello-agents requests

Usage

Run Directly (HTTP transport, default port 8081)

python server.py

stdio Transport (for Claude Desktop / HelloAgents local use)

python server.py --stdio
