ChatGPT Checker panel status

chatgpt_checker_status

Reads the checker panel from one chatgpt.com tab, returning proof-of-work difficulty, risk verdict, persona, region, model, limits, memory, and Codex usage.

Instructions

Read the ChatGPT Checker Next panel of one chatgpt.com tab as data: proof-of-work difficulty and the checker's own verdict on it (risk, medium, good, excellent), persona, user region, time zone and language, selected model and thinking level, feature usage limits, memory, and Codex usage. Also returns the US region-lock profile in effect. Requires the user to have turned on ChatGPT Checker in the extension popup. The panel only fills in as the page makes the matching requests, so a field is null until then (difficulty appears after the first message is sent). Read-only: it never sends a message, and it returns no chat content, URL, or title.

browserNoWhich connected Chrome to use: an instanceId or label from browser_list_instances. Required when more than one browser is connected; session-based tools infer it from their sessionId.

TDQS

A4.5/5.0
Behavior5/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

No annotations are provided, so the description carries the full burden. It discloses read-only behavior ('never sends a message'), returns no chat content/URL/title, the prerequisite enablement, and progressive field population (difficulty appears after first message), covering all key behavioral traits.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness5/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Front-loads the tool's purpose and returned data, then adds prerequisites and behavioral notes in two tight sentences. The dense enumeration earns its place and there is no filler.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness5/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

With no output schema, the description must explain return values; it lists all major fields (difficulty, verdict, persona, region, model, limits, memory, region-lock profile) and clarifies null timing. Complete for a read-only status tool.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters3/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema description coverage is 100%, so the schema already documents both parameters fully. The description adds no parameter-specific syntax or constraints, which is the baseline when the schema does the heavy lifting.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose5/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

States a specific verb ('Read') and resource ('the ChatGPT Checker Next panel of one chatgpt.com tab') and enumerates the exact data returned. The resource is unique among siblings, so an agent can distinguish it without ambiguity.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

Provides clear context for use: it requires the user to have enabled ChatGPT Checker in the extension popup, and notes that fields remain null until the page makes matching requests. It does not name alternative tools or state when-not to use it, so no 5.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
