# mcp-finnish-companies 🇫🇮

MCP server for the Finnish company registry (PRH/YTJ - Patent and Registration Office). Part of the [Nordic MCP Toolkit](https://github.com/robobobby).

## Features

- **Search companies** by name, location, Business ID, company form, or industry
- **Lookup by Business ID** (Y-tunnus) with full detail: addresses, registers, history
- **Industry search** using TOL 2008 classification codes or text
- **Recent registrations** tracker for new business formation trends
- Free government open data API (CC BY 4.0), no API key required

## Tools

| Tool | Description |
|------|-------------|
| `search_companies` | Search by name, location, Business ID, company form, industry, or postal code |
| `company_lookup` | Detailed lookup by Finnish Business ID (Y-tunnus) |
| `search_by_industry` | Find companies by TOL 2008 industry classification |
| `recent_registrations` | Track newly registered companies over a time period |

## Examples

- "Look up Business ID 0112038-9" → `company_lookup` with business_id="0112038-9"

| SÄÄ | Foundation (Säätiö) |
