# Addon Setup Summary
This document summarizes the files created to convert the MCP HA Extended Python project into a Home Assistant addon.
## Files Created
### Core Addon Files
1. **config.yaml** - Addon configuration
- Defines addon metadata (name, version, description)
- Specifies supported architectures (aarch64, armv7, amd64)
- Defines configuration schema (ha_url, ha_token, log_level)
- Sets Home Assistant API requirements
2. **build.yaml** - Build configuration
- Specifies base images for each architecture
- Defines build argument versions (bashio, tempio, s6-overlay)
3. **Dockerfile** - Container build instructions
- Multi-stage build process
- Installs system dependencies
- Sets up S6 overlay, bashio, and tempio
- Installs Python dependencies using PDM
- Configures the application runtime
4. **build.sh** - Build script
- Convenience script for building the addon
- Supports building for multiple architectures
- Can be customized for your registry
### Service Files
5. **rootfs/etc/services.d/mcp-ha-extended/run** - Service startup script
- Reads configuration from Home Assistant addon options
- Sets environment variables
- Validates configuration
- Starts the MCP server
6. **rootfs/etc/services.d/mcp-ha-extended/finish** - Service shutdown script
- Handles cleanup on service stop

## Next Steps
### 1. Update Configuration
The `config.yaml` and `build.sh` are already configured with:
- `url`: `https://github.com/rios0rios0/mcp-home-assistant-extended`
- `image`: `rios0rios0/{arch}-addon-mcp-home-assistant-extended`
- `REGISTRY`: `rios0rios0`
### 2. Build the Addon

### 3. Test Locally
1. Copy the addon directory to `/config/addons/` in Home Assistant
2. Add as a local repository in Home Assistant
3. Install and configure the addon
4. Check logs for any issues
### 4. Deploy
The addon is configured to automatically build and push images to GitHub Container Registry via GitHub Actions. See [Addon Build Guide](ADDON_BUILD.md) for setup instructions.

## Architecture Support
The addon supports:
- **aarch64** (ARM 64-bit) - Most modern ARM devices
- **armv7** (ARM 32-bit) - Older ARM devices like Raspberry Pi 3
- **amd64** (x86_64) - Standard desktop/server processors

## Notes
- The addon uses PDM for Python dependency management (see [PDM Setup](PDM_SETUP.md))
- Dependencies are installed system-wide (not in a virtual environment)
- The MCP server communicates via stdio
- Configuration is read from Home Assistant addon options via bashio
- Logs are available through Home Assistant's addon interface
