# Session: Module Refactoring & CLAUDE.md Documentation **Date:** 2025-11-28 **Project:** scout_mcp **Duration:** Extended session (context continuation) ## Session Overview Completed two major initiatives for the Scout MCP project: 1. **Module Refactoring**: Reorganized flat codebase into structured subdirectories using TDD methodology 2. **CLAUDE.md Documentation**: Created comprehensive memory files for the project and all subdirectories ## Timeline ### Phase 1: Module Structure Refactoring (Continued from previous context) **Objective:** Refactor `scout_mcp/` from flat structure to organized subdirectories while maintaining test coverage. **Starting State:** - All code in root of `scout_mcp/` - 55 tests passing (baseline) **TDD Process:** 1. Established green baseline (55 tests) 2. Removed tests for unimplemented features (`test_server_lifespan.py`, `test_middleware/test_logging.py`) 3. Wrote failing tests in `test_module_structure.py` for new imports 4. Created all new modules to make tests pass 5. `server.py` reduced to 21 lines (thin wrapper only) - All business logic delegated to tools/, resources/, services/ - No backward compatibility re-exports needed (user confirmed) - Single-word file names used per user preference ### Import Path Changes Key test file updates required: - `tests/test_executors.py:1-2` - Changed from `scout_mcp.executors` to `scout_mcp.services.executors` - `tests/benchmarks/test_ssh_operations.py:9` - Same executor import update - `tests/benchmarks/test_uri_parsing.py:7` -
